Dr. Henesey is employed as Vice President, North America for HPC (Hamburg Port Consulting) since February of 2023. Dr. Henesey possesses 33 years of industrial work experience employed with companies, such as: Marcura, Evergreen, Sea Land, TTS Port Equipment, Conductix-Wampfler AG, Vahle GmbH, SIMPORT AB, ISL-Applications GmbH, and DPWorld. He has lived in USA, Belgium, Germany, Sweden and Dubai. Dr. Henesey has worked in the development of solutions for optimising operations, A.I., Automation, Digitaliyation tools, such as; TOS- Terminal Operating Systems, AGS – Automated Gate Systems, PCS – Port Community Systems, by employing many tools and techniques from computer science and software engineering.

Dr. Henesey has worked with major organisations, such as APMT, PSA, Hutchison Port Holdings, DPWorld, plus several dozen governments, United Nations, European Union, MARAD, etc. and other global terminal operators on employing automation and electrification technologies, such as AGVs, ASCs, Automated cranes, RTGs and RMGs. In addition, he is an Asst. Professor since 2000 at Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden and focuses his work on the applications of technologies in Distributed Artificial Intelligence (Multi Agents and ML) for improved performances in logistics systems, such as Container Ports and Terminals, which has culminated into 100+ published articles and two books. Dr. Henesey has participated in 15 International, European Union and National research projects as Principal Investigator (PI), as well as lecturing at several Asian, US and European Universities.
