Jeremy Smith, Ph.D

Professor of Transportation and Logistics
Keiser University

Dr. Jeremy Smith managed warehouses for two fortune 100 organizations while moving freight throughout the United States. Dr. Smith worked vigorously purchasing goods from around the world and importing them into our ports to add value to American consumers.

In 2017, Dr. Smith became a full-time Professor at Keiser University located at the Jacksonville Florida campus. As a professor, Dr. Smith started with only 4 students in the program. Today, there are over 100 students enrolled in T&L at Keiser University. During these past seven years, Dr. Smith focused on hands-on learning by taking his students to warehouses, FTZs (Foreign Trade Zones), and maritime ports. His students have traveled intensely around the state of Florida to experience distribution and the maritime industry by attending fieldtrips at other maritime ports and businesses such as NASA. Dr. Smith has spent time with his students attending International Propeller Club events in cities such as New Orleans, Athens Greece, and Charlston.

Today, Dr. Smith is not only expanding the interest of the maritime industry with Keiser University students, but he is now the current Propeller Club Vice President of Student Ports. As the newly elected Vice President, Dr. Smith is working diligently in expanding interest of the maritime industry to students around the world so we can be a small part of a bigger picture of the global marketplace that begins at maritime ports in American and abroad.
