Director, Regulatory Development

Scott Edwards is the Director of Regulatory Development for Core Power. In that role, he is responsible for working with regulators and other stakeholders to help prepare for the use of floating nuclear power plants and nuclear-powered ships. He is working with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), International Maritime Organization (IMO), and national regulators as part of this role.

Scott holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech, a certificate in Nuclear Engineering from Bettis Reactor Engineering School, and a MBA from Xavier University. He started his career at Naval Reactors Headquarters and has been in the nuclear industry for 35 years. He has worked at several US Department of Energy facilities, including Hanford, Fernald, Yucca Mountain, and Idaho National Laboratory, and served as the Director of Transportation for AREVA/Orano USA. Prior to joining Core Power, he also worked for 3 years in London at the World Nuclear Transport Institute (WNTI), where he was the primary liaison for the radioactive materials transport industry with the IAEA.
