Robert Sharak is Bureau Manager for Business Attraction, Marketing, Business Intelligence and Grants for the City of Norfolk Department of Economic Development and Assistant Executive Director for the city’s Economic Development Authority.
Previously Bob served in a variety of roles for Opportunity Inc. of Hampton Roads (Opplnc), the regional workforce board. He was responsible for the organization’s government and public relations, business services and business intelligence. Prior that he was a Vice President with the Hampton Roads Partnership, a regional leadership organization focusing on making the region more collaborative and economically competitive. He has been a principal manager, writer, or contributor in over $75 million worth of funded state and federal grants.
Bob holds a BS in advertising from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications and an MBA from PACE University’s Lubin School of Business.
He is a native of Binghamton, NY and currently resides in Chesapeake, VA with his wife Susan.
